From a Grateful Patient

Since I moved to Boca Grande in January 2018, I hope to never have to move again, and one of the major reasons (if not the most salient) is the Boca Grande Health Clinic. Even considering relocating seems out of the question, particularly as I, my friends and acquaintances, deal with the aging process. I know at any moment, on any given day that the Clinic is there for us—to discuss, explore, and problem-solve any and every health concern, including consulting with or referring to other medical facilities.

All staff at the Clinic have been effective and proficient in helping me access additional care or second opinions in Tampa and Sarasota, when indicated—and not just the MDs. It is a complete team process at the Clinic that fully involves all staff in working closely with patients in all aspects of the treatment process. And if one of us is in crisis, we need all of the staff to help coordinate care, whether it be documents going out to other providers, right down to an immediate need for a timely blood test and results to be sent out ASAP. And to have in one location several doctors and nurses to bounce off ideas with, as well as to discuss and explore various perspectives regarding treatment decisions truly empowers us patients to be fully involved in the direction of our medical care.

An additional resonant example is a recent struggle with a medication side effect. The Clinic was there for me weekly, if not daily regarding resolving this medical challenge. The staff helped me in all ways, particularly in studying medical reports and coming up with a timely and effective solution.

I only hope that the Clinic can remain and retain its wonderful presence on Boca Grande.

75th Annual Flag Raising Ceremony

The 75th Anniversary flag raising ceremony held in March 2022 was an opportunity to pay tribute to the legacy of healthcare on the island. We honored those who have come together over the years to support the Clinic and recognized the important work of today’s Clinic team.
